The Search Process
 

Phase 1

Stephen Yaffe Associates Role

  • Assemble the search team to immediately conduct a thorough analysis of your company, competitors, and overall market conditions.
  • Conduct a meeting with the client interviewing team to understand the client’s corporate culture and the expectations for the position.
  • Assess the challenges for the search, agree on a successful search strategy, and craft a position profile which will include responsibilities, qualifications and criteria for success.
  • Leverage the internal knowledge of our recruitment team who have conducted similar searches and have direct industry experience in creating a preliminary list of potential candidates and company sources.

Client's Role

  • Clearly communicate expectations and needs.
  • Keep us informed of specific companies or candidates they would be interested to pursue.
  • Approve the position profile and company description
  • Review candidate list and make necessary adjustments
  • Work with us to determine an interview process identifying, which client team members will conduct first round and second round interviews once the final candidate is selected.

Result -- Targeted Strategy, Knowledge, Research and Recruitment


Phase 2

Stephen Yaffe Associates Role

  • Contact the research candidate list and assess their level of qualification and interest level.
  • Develop potential candidates by using our proprietary talent pool research process, which goes beyond networking; it gives us a detailed view of all potential source companies.
  • Identify individuals currently qualified for this opportunity and candidates who could be promoted into this role within each source company.
  • Provide a final candidate slate of 3-5 top candidates.
  • Conduct all initial interviewing with prospective candidates.
  • Select individuals who meet the qualifications and criteria for success for the opportunity.
  • Prepare comprehensive candidate summary report along with recommended action steps.

Client's Role

  • Review the candidate slate and make necessary adjustments.
  • Identify candidates to interview in Phase 3.

Result -- Several candidates that meet the client's specified requirements


Phase 3

Stephen Yaffe Associates Role

  • Schedule interviews and coordinate logistics.
  • Provide feedback to the client and the candidate concerning post-interview thoughts and impressions.
  • Continue the search and have a list of additional candidates.

Client's Role

  • Interview candidates.
  • Provide us with post-interview impressions.
  • Select lead and back-up candidate.

Result -- Final Candidate Selected


Phase 4

Stephen Yaffe Associates Role

  • Obtain the list of references from candidate
  • Pursue references
  • Check references and provide the client with a report
  • Provide the client with market compensation data as required
  • Ask candidate for open issues and total compensation requirements
  • Assist with the offer negotiation
  • Obtain written acceptance of the offer
  • Monitor the resignation process and develop a transition strategy

Client's Role

  • Prepare and make written offer to finalist
  • Provide candidate with relocation information
  • Obtain written acceptance of offer
